Andrew McMillen pushed a couple of journalists out of their cliche zone on breakfast TV this morning, launching his book Talking smack.
"I'm a lifelong music fan and for the last five years I've been a music journalist. In the last couple of years after avoiding drugs most of my life I turned 24 and finally worked up the courage to start trying some of these things myself. I didn't die, I didn't have a bad time. In fact I had a fantastic time, using drugs like Cannabis and MDMA. And I don't think there's any shame in saying that."
Journalist Andrew McMillen launching his book Talking smack, a collection of interviews with Australian musicians about their thoughts on – and experiences with – illicit, prescription and legal drugs. Includes interviews with Paul Kelly, Tina Arena, Gotye, Steve Kilbey (The Church), Phil Jamieson (Grinspoon), Holly Throsby and many more.
